Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is seeking a civil engineer to design land-development projects and coordinate with clients and internal teams. You will develop infrastructure designs using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards, while advancing through mentorship and firm-led career development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is required.
• 4+ years of experience designing land-development projects using Civil 3D.
• EIT or PE registration preferred (or ability to obtain PE within one year).
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare site-development construction drawings for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
• Design water, sewer, and storm-drainage infrastructure using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Develop engineering design considerations and support permitting efforts for land-development projects.
• Coordinate regularly with clients, project managers, and internal discipline teams.
• Produce and refine models in Civil 3D, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to project standards.
• Manage tasks to meet scope, schedule, and quality expectations.

On-site: Monday–Thursday 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.; Friday 7:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m.
