Job summary

Ardurra Group, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Engineering Technician in New Jersey. The role supports all phases of projects under supervision from the Regional Manager or Project Manager. You will work on site development, roadway and utility projects, and assist with design, analyses, and permitting.

Ideal candidates hold a B.S. in Civil Engineering, with 1–2 years of related experience. EIT is preferred but not required, and proficiency in AutoCAD, StormCAD, ArcGIS, and Excel is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Entry-level professional with 1–2 years of experience in civil engineering.
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university required.
  • EIT preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Excel.
  • Knowledge of StormCAD and ArcGIS enhances candidate suitability.

Responsibilities

  • Design and prepare plans for site development, roadway, utility, stormwater, and other civil infrastructure projects.
  • Perform site grading, drainage, and erosion control design in compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct technical analyses, calculations, and cost estimates.
  • Prepare and submit permit applications and coordinate with regulatory agencies.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, surveyors, and other engineers to meet objectives and deadlines.
  • Review construction plans and specifications for accuracy and adherence to goals.
  • Provide construction support, including responding to RFIs, submittal reviews, and field inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and best practices.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Engineering Technician is an entry-level professional with 1-2 years of experience. This individual will provide engineering services on all phases of an assigned project under the supervision of the Regional Manager, or Project Manager

PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Design and prepare plans for site development, roadway, utility, stormwater, and other civil infrastructure projects
  • Perform site grading, drainage, and erosion control design in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Conduct technical analyses, calculations, and cost estimates
  • Prepare and submit permit applications and coordinate with regulatory agencies
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, surveyors, and other engineers to ensure project objectives and deadlines are met
  • Review construction plans and specifications for accuracy and adherence to project goals
  • Provide support during construction, including responding to RFIs, submittal reviews, and field inspections
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and best practices
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to make public presentations
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of computer aided design software, AutoCAD, and Excel
  • Ability to work in groups as well as individually
  • Knowledge of StormCAD, ArcGIS, AutoCAD
  • Specification, preparation & research required
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES REQUIRED
  • EIT preferred not required
