Job summary

The Transportation Department at GBA is seeking a civil engineer to join our Austin, Texas office. You’ll work with a multi-disciplinary team on roadway design and support our Kansas, Missouri, and Texas offices.

You will contribute to geometric design, evaluation of multi-modal facilities, and construction documentation while advancing your EIT specialization and collaborating with internal teams. GBA emphasizes integrity, safety, and innovation in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
• 0–2 years of experience in civil engineering preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation required; knowledge of other design tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Geometric design and 3-D modeling for roadways, including intersections and interchanges.
• Evaluate and design multi-modal facilities from planning to bidding documents.
• Provide roadside safety evaluation and design.
• Perform basic hydrology & hydraulic design for cross-road structures and storm sewers.
• Develop construction sequencing, traffic control, erosion plans, and cost estimates.
• Conduct field visits and coordinate utility work.
• Support quality control and assurance activities.
