MacKay is seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer (EIT) to join our Chicago team, designing municipal infrastructure and collaborating with a multidisciplinary group to deliver high-quality solutions. You’ll perform hydrologic/hydraulic analyses, coordinate with clients and agencies, and progress toward project management while upholding engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft 365, and Google Workspace.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Desire to grow into project management and leadership roles.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Prepare civil layouts and designs for municipal infrastructure projects.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations and modeling.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables with project managers.
• Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and agencies to meet requirements.
• Review survey reports, maps, and as-built drawings.
• Assist in preparing technical reports and cost estimates.
• Stay current with standards, practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee construction activities and assist in project coordination.
