MacKay in Lake Oswego, OR is seeking a Civil Engineer in Training (EIT) to join our Engineering & Design team. You will collaborate with professionals to design municipal infrastructure projects and shape communities with high-quality, practical solutions.

The role emphasizes growth toward project management, strong technical skills, and a proactive mindset within a hybrid work environment. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft 365, and Google Workspace.
• Strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to grow beyond core engineering duties into project management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare site layouts and designs for municipal infrastructure projects.
• Perform engineering calculations and analysis to support design decisions.
• Ensure timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met with project managers.
• Coordinate with teams, clients, and agencies to meet requirements.
• Review survey reports, maps, and as-built drawings.
• Assist in technical reports and cost estimates.
• Stay current with standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Take on increasing responsibility for project coordination and communication.
