Job summary

GPTech seeks a Civil Engineer to support the Department of State’s IDIQ contracts. The role requires civil/structural inspections, QA/QC oversight, and coordination with design teams to ensure compliance with US codes. Travel worldwide and a Secret clearance are prerequisites.

The candidate should have a US civil engineering degree, 7+ years on construction projects, and experience with construction management, drawings, and safety regulations. PE preferred; overseas experience valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from a US-accredited university with 7+ years on construction projects.
• Active Secret Clearance required.
• Experience in construction management and reading design/construction drawings.
• Knowledge of US standards and safety regulations (EM 385-1-1, OSHA).
• Willingness to travel worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical inspections of civil and structural work and monitor quality control.
• Verify contractor compliance with contract drawings and specifications.
• Review shop drawings and ensure final design parameters are met.
• Observe onsite construction and assure proper installation and execution.
• Perform QA/QC tasks and ensure corrective actions and submittals meet contract requirements.
• Monitor contractor QA/QC and safety programs.
• Submit weekly progress reports and provide technical recommendations.
• Prepare construction reports detailing progress and problems in the incumbent’s area.
• Assist DOS Project Director/Construction Manager with remedies and solutions.
• Undertake other duties as assigned by Project Director or Contracting Officer.
