Job summary

You will support a research project with an AI lab, performing real design tasks on your Mac to benchmark AI models and generate high-quality training data.

Qualifications

• Own a MacBook/Mac with Apple M-series chip or Intel, running macOS 15+
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field
• Proficiency with Mac-compatible design tools (AutoCAD for Mac, ArchiCAD, Vectorworks, SketchUp, or Rhino)
• Pursuing or completed Masters studies, or 2–3 years experience with a BA/BS from a prestigious institution
• Ability to clearly explain design decisions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Complete and narrate real civil engineering and architectural tasks on your Mac to create training data for AI models

Mercor is looking for civil engineers and architects with 2-3 years of professional experience, or currently enrolled postgrad students in civil engineering or architecture, to support a research project with a leading AI lab. You will work through real design and drafting workflows on your own Mac to help benchmark and improve cutting-edge AI models.

Qualifications:

• Required: You must own a MacBook or Mac with an Apple M-series chip or Intel processor, running macOS 15 or higher. Applicants without a Mac cannot be considered.




• Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field




• Proficiency in Mac-compatible tools such as AutoCAD for Mac, ArchiCAD, Vectorworks, SketchUp, or Rhino; experience with structural, site, or building design is a plus




• Currently pursuing or recently completed Masters studies, or have 2-3 years of relevant experience + Bachelors from a prestigious institution




• Ability to clearly explain your design decisions while you work




• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Part-time commitment of approximately 10-20 hours per week
