We are searching for Civil Engineer and Planner – Renewable Central Maintenance on behalf of our client. This is a 1 yr. contract assignment. (W-2)

Roles and responsibilities

• Provide support to maintenance team responsible for major wind component restorations (large gearboxes and blade replacements). Work closely with maintenance planning to reduce time for civil work preparation needed before job start.

• Assess best road entries to site for major component restorations. Utilize GIS tools to load into data platform

• Perform road survey and offer evaluation of what are the necessary changes to allow safe passage of large cranes and equipment.

• Design road modifications to allow safe access of large equipment to site, and to perform work near wind tower (e.g. turn radius or other road modifications, crane pad design, compaction/soil studies if needed, gravel selection as needed).

• Ensure state, county, landowner road agreements are in place to allow safe access of large cranes and equipment to the site

• Provide overall project management of civil jobs affecting maintenance planning, with accountability for time to complete civil planning and road modification activity.

Qualification

• Civil engineer or direct related experience on design of road modifications

• Strong computer skills, use of GIS tools, creation of .kmz files, coding to perform road-use optimization studies

• Strong project management skills, ability to manage multiple projects in parallel to achieve success

• Strong communication skills. Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization including management, operation leaders, maintenance planning team, landowners, state and county administrators.
