Primary Services is excited to announce the role of Project Manager - E&C for a large, dynamic organization in the energy industry. As a Project Manager - E&C, you will oversee multiple high-volume battery augmentation projects from conception through execution. You will work closely with engineering, business management, and construction teams to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and technical standards. This position provides the opportunity to influence large-scale energy storage initiatives and engage with a wide array of internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple concurrent high-volume battery augmentation projects from conception through execution.
• Lead early-stage project efforts, including storage sizing, scope definition, and schedule creation.
• Coordinate financial feasibility analysis, engineering/design review, resource analysis, legal/tax review, and contracting.
• Lead efforts in brownfield permitting, interconnection agreement modifications, and construction RFPs.
• Support energy storage strategies through technical and market analysis.
• Develop models and dashboards to improve project management, enhance team collaboration, and identify valuable insights.
• Support composition of contractual arrangements for project development.
• Negotiate agreements with consultants and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements.
• Support detailed design engineering of major components for augmentation projects.
• Influence project teams in the engineering aspects of technical work.
• Collaborate with suppliers to successfully integrate major equipment.
• Partner with multi-disciplined teams for problem-solving, process improvement, and system integration.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and assess emerging technologies.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Subject matter expertise in substation or utility-scale energy storage design and/or project management.
• Experience managing large-scale projects involving multiple stakeholders, including schedule, budget, and resource plans.
• Proven ability to manage technical and financial aspects of large-scale energy storage fleets.
• Hands-on knowledge of construction methods, including foundations, trenching, electrical terminations, and testing.
• Strong understanding of energy storage technologies, including battery chemistries, power conversion units, and DC-DC converters.
• Familiarity with lithium-ion battery storage safety standards: UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, NEC, IFC/IBC sections.
• Experience with interconnection studies and GIA material modification adjustment (MMA) processes in WECC and CAISO regions.
• Construction permitting and contracting experience.
• Demonstrated skill creating and managing PowerBI dashboards with aggregated data from multiple systems.
• Ability to convey technical and non-technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences.
