Job summary

Sanbell in Ventura, CA is seeking a Licensed Professional Engineer to join our land development team as a Project Engineer I. This full-time, in-person role focuses on residential, commercial, and institutional projects, delivering high-quality civil designs and analyses.

You will support projects from concept through construction, collaborating with engineers, drafters, and clients to meet budgets and schedules while maintaining design integrity and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in California
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil engineering or related field
• 3+ years of civil engineering experience
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Knowledge of Hec-RAS, SMARTS and SWPPP, hydrology, and water-CAD modeling

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships with managers, co-workers and clients.
• Ensure accuracy, quality and completeness of engineering plans.
• Utilize design software to analyze engineering criteria.
• Perform construction activity monitoring and field decisions.
• Participate in engineering design and report preparation.
• Perform engineering calculations with minimal supervision.

Your Impact

Sanbell is looking for an experienced Licensed Professional Engineer to join our team of dedicated civil engineers. As a Project Engineer I at Sanbell, you will join the land development team in transforming and shaping the communities where we live, work, and thrive. You will take on the task of supporting single family residential, multi-family, commercial, and institutional projects. • Participate in engineering design and report preparation
• Perform engineering calculations with minimal assistance from a project team leader

• Be proactive and recommend changes as necessary to provide a quality engineering product and a smooth-running office
• Perform research to establish design parameter requirements
• Stay up to date on advancing technologies and participate in professional development opportunities

Budget Optimization

• Keep to schedules and budgets as requested by the project team leader
• Assist in review of contracts, preparation of schedules, maintaining budgets and achievement of client satisfaction

What You Bring

• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in California
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil engineering or related field from an accredited university
• 3+ years of civil engineering experience
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Knowledge of Hec-RAS, SMARTS and SWPPP, hydrology, and water-CAD modeling
