Sanbell is seeking a Staff Engineer I - Public Works for an in‑person role in Pleasanton, CA. You will support the public works engineering department with civil design and project tasks under supervision, gaining hands-on experience across utilities, drainage, and site development. The position requires a B.S.

in Civil Engineering, knowledge of civil principles, and proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office. California EIT or PE is preferred; the company offers extensive benefits and a career path

Job Summary:

As a Staff Engineer I, you will perform a variety of entry-level engineering tasks related to the design and engineering of utilities, highways, public works, infrastructure, and land development projects. You will work under the direct supervision of one or more registered civil engineers with the goal of advancing applied engineering skills.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provide general entry-level support to the public works engineering department
• Utilize AutoCAD, MS Word and Excel for civil engineering grading, layout, drainage, utilities, and profile plan preparation
• Coordinate with agencies, utility companies, and clients
• Conduct site visits and field assessments
• Process permits for Caltrans
• Perform other duties as assigned
• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited University

• 2+ years of civil engineering design experience
• EIT certification or Professional Engineer (PE) License in California
