Job summary

Ambitus Research is seeking practicing civil engineers for a remote contract role focused on translating 2D architectural and structural drawings into 3D IFC building models. The project emphasizes AI-enabled capabilities in civil engineering.

Qualifications

Job description

Ambitus is looking for practicing civil engineers to contribute to a high-priority research project. This is a remote contract position [$100-140 / hour] focused on advancing AI capabilities in civil engineering. The project will center on translating 2D technical architectural (A) and structural (S) drawing sheets into 3D IFC building models.

You’ll be asked to provide prior building drawing (A and S sheets) and model file (IFC or Revit format) pairs for compensation and may receive additional opportunities for hourly work involving modeling and quality review.

Core Responsibilities

• Provide 2D A and S technical drawing sheets and 3D IFC models of complex buildings from prior work or projects
• Create accurate 3D IFC models based on technical drawings
• Review architectural files for completeness and accuracy against project specifications

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering or equivalent professional experience
• Prior experience in producing structural drawings for complex buildings
• Proficient in creating 3D IFC models of complex buildings using modeling applications such as ArchiCAD or Revit
