Job summary

Fleis & VandenBrink is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Kalamazoo, MI team. You will lead design of municipal water, sewer, drainage and road infrastructure projects, coordinating with design staff to deliver on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Civil Engineering, 5–15 years of relevant experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office. Strong communication and teamwork are essential to support our client-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering required.
• 5-15 years of related experience desired.
• Experience with municipal water/wastewater infrastructure, transportation projects, municipal funding agencies and permitting.
• Proven experience in preparing and meeting budgets and schedules.
• Proven experience in developing engineering scopes and municipal projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of municipal water, sewer, drainage, and road infrastructure projects.
• Work with office engineers, designers, technicians, and surveyors to complete projects on time and on budget.
• Administer construction contracts including review of submittals, pay applications and project changes.

• Proven experience in developing engineering scopes and work plans and developing municipal engineering projects
• Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• The preferred candidate will have good communication skills and will be expected to interact with our team
