Job summary

A full-service architectural firm in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Civil Engineer to design and oversee construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, a PE license, and over 7 years of experience in managing design projects. Job description

A Civil Engineer is responsible for designing and overseeing construction projects, ensuring they meet safety standards and regulations while addressing environmental impacts. Our projects will focus on land development standards that comply with all local, state, and federal regulations.In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.   • Design sites (parking, sidewalks, grading, utilities, erosion controls, stormwater management) are associated with new and renovated buildings.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal stormwater regulations (detention/retention)
  • Meet with clients and government agencies as needed throughout the design process.
  • Manage design projects from conception to completion based on experience and project types.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety regulations
  • Travel: up to 20%
  • Experience in multi-disciplined design teams.
  • Can work effectively as a member of a team and can work independently.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Autodesk Civil 3D
Qualifications / Prior Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related design field preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • ANC and SC PE is a plus. Must obtain for Charlotte location.
  • 7+ years’ experience.
  • Experience with stormwater detention/retention and LID practices a plus
  • Federal work experience with DoD and industrial projects
  • Proficient at design and permitting stormwater management facilities and erosion control.
  • Experience in large campus industrial work is a plus.
