Kimley-Horn’s Jacksonville, FL office seeks a Civil Engineer-in-Training with 2+ years of traffic engineering experience to join our Transportation/Traffic Signal Timing team. This role emphasizes hands-on project delivery, mentorship, and growth within a well-established transportation practice.

Responsibilities include developing signal timing, field assessments, software-based controller programming, and contributing to marketing efforts. Remote work is not offered.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of traffic engineering experience including timing plans and traffic studies
• ABET-accredited degree in Civil Engineering; EIT or ability to obtain within 12 months
• IMSA Traffic Signal certification preferred; strong analytical writing ability

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement traffic signal timing parameters
• Perform field assessments of traffic patterns and signal infrastructure
• Program signal controllers via local controller or ATMS software
• Deliver transportation planning and ITS projects for diverse clients
• Lead and mentor staff; contribute to marketing and business development
