Job summary

Ardurra Group, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Designer to join our Arizona team in Phoenix, with hybrid work options considered for the right candidate. The role focuses on creating transportation engineering designs, plans and specifications under a Professional Engineer.

Responsibilities include producing roadway plans, supporting erosion control, drainage and utilities, and collaborating with team members across disciplines to deliver projects across the region.

Civil Designer - Transportation (Architecture)

Ardurra seeks aTransportation Designerto join our team inPhoenix, AZ!

This position is to report to the Phoenix, AZ office but hybrid work options could be considered for the right candidate

Primary Duties

As part of our Arizona team, you will have the opportunity to be a part of the growing Ardurra family in our Transportation Engineering practices. You will be working directly under a Professional Engineer supporting our company growth in Arizona and a wide variety of exciting transportation projects throughout the region.

• Develop technical design elements, plans, specifications and cost estimates for a wide variety of municipal transportation engineering projects that include the following elements: geometric design, horizontal and vertical alignment, intersection layout, sight distance determination, roadway drainage, and right of way plans.
• Produce construction documents that include typical roadway sections, plan and profile drawings, removal plans, and detail sheets.
• Provide technical support to fellow team members' preparation of erosion control plans, drainage plans and profiles, utility plans, traffic signal plans, pavement marking plans, and signing plans.

Education and Experience Requirements

• BS in Civil Engineering or related field (preferred)
• 5+ years of experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• 3+ years of experience working as a transportation project designer
• Ability to apply design standards from a variety of different agencies.
• Ability to learn and apply agency and in-house CAD
• Ability to efficiently create accurate roadway plans using Civil 3D
• Thorough understanding of roads and streets, drainage and utility design
• Good written and oral communication abilities and interpersonal skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• Must be highly organized, self-motivated and meticulous with details
• Local Arizona experience is desirable but not required
