certified in the State of New Jersey, and nationally 8a, EDWOSB, and WOSB certified.

We are currently seeking a Full Time Civil Designer. The ideal candidate would be interested in the full life-cycle of projects. At ENGenuity engineers receive experience in every aspect of project delivery from due diligence and permitting, through design and construction management. The candidate should be a self-starter with a desire to design plans under supervision, on time and on budget. Technically, the right candidate will be proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and able to demonstrate skills necessary to design site plans, roadway plans, grading plans, utility plans, drainage, earthwork, and profiles. The candidate should have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
• 3-5 years experience
• Valid Driver’s license
• If candidate is not already a Licensed Professional Engineer, Fundamentals of Engineering, or Engineer in Training (FE/EIT) Certification preferred, with eligibility to sit for the Professional Engineer (PE) within 18-24 months.
• Demonstrated Civil 3D skills with the ability to design site layouts concept through completion.
• Proficiency in technical skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D and the Microsoft Office Suite, HEC-1, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HEC-GeoRAS, and GIS.
• Ability to do drainage calculations and draft drainage reports. Fluency with State Stormwater regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact well with coworkers, clients, regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and clients.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities. Highly organized.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
• Thorough understanding and knowledge of building codes, zoning codes and approval process as it relates to Civil Engineering.
• Knowledge of local city, county and state land use processes and regulations (NJ)
• A mix of design and field experience

Responsibilities

• Civil design including street analysis, planning, geometric design, conceptual layouts, grading, and modeling. Coordinates, writes and/or edits specifications, rawings, drainage reports and data sheets for projects. Develops calculations, design documents, and permit applications.
• A knowledge of water main and sanitary sewer system design would be preferred.
• Thorough understanding and knowledge of building codes, zoning codes and approval process as it relates to Civil Engineering.
• Preparation of contract documents including reports, plans, specifications, details, and cost estimates.
• Responsible for the technical completion of civil project services and project discipline scope elements within budget and schedule.
• Gathers information for inclusion in engineering reports, technical studies.
• Perform quantity calculations and produce/check engineering analytical data and related information to assure the design and any technical reports are accurate.
• Review of local ordinances and regulations.
• Completes assignments on time and on budget.
• Comfortable in public settings, such as Client meetings and stakeholder meetings as required for projects as many of our projects incorporate public engagement in the design process.
