Job summary

EXP Services Inc. in Houston is seeking a seasoned Civil Designer to join the Pipeline Engineering team.

You will produce AutoCAD Civil 3D drawings for pipeline projects, perform site plans, grading and pipe supports, and ensure GIS data is correctly integrated into CAD deliverables. You will collaborate with engineering and CAD staff to maintain consistency, meet project deadlines, and support cross-office coordination on interstate oil and gas pipelines.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of professional experience in Civil/ Pipeline design.
• Experience on interstate oil/gas pipeline projects is required.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D for site plans, crossings and drawings.
• Ability to integrate GIS data into CAD deliverables and ensure data accuracy.

Responsibilities

• AutoCAD Civil 3D drawing production for pipeline projects including site-specific crossing drawings, construction typical drawings, site plan, grading plans, foundation, pipe supports, alignment sheets, property sketches and plats, and permit drawings.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure deliverables are completed on time and meet requirements.
• Prioritize tasks and balance workload according to project needs.
• Work with Engineering and CAD teams to maintain consistency between engineering deliverables.
• Coordinate that all CAD data matches project GIS databases 100%.
• Work with Senior Drafting Technicians/CAD Leads to establish SOPs and perform QC checks.
• Occasional travel to other offices for interaction with team members and clients.

In this role, you will be a part of thePipeline Engineeringteam, of theEnergy Services, based inHoustonOfficeand have the opportunity to work on the broad range ofrenewable,natural gas or oil projects.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

• AutoCAD Civil 3D drawing productionfor pipeline related projects; including site-specific crossing drawings, construction typical drawings, site plan, grading plans, foundation, pipe supports, alignment sheets, property sketches and plats, and permit drawings.
• Coordination with project teams to ensure that all deliverables are completed on time and meet the requirements specified.
• Prioritize tasks and balance workload according to project needs.
• Work on a regular basis with theEngineering andCAD team to maintain consistency betweenEngineering deliverables.
• Coordination that all data being used in CAD drawings, matches 100% with the project GIS databases.
• Work with Senior Drafting Technicians/CAD Leads to establish standard operating procedures and perform quality control checks on deliverables to ensure they are created in compliance with the established procedures.
• Occasional travel to other offices as needed for interaction with team members, clients, and project teams

What your experience looks like

• A minimum of five (5-10) years of related professional experience.
• Experience working on interstate oil/gas pipeline projects is required.
• Understanding of AutoCAD Civil 3D in the context of preparingsite-specific crossing drawings, construction typical drawings, site plan, grading plans, foundation, pipe supports, alignment sheets, property sketches and plats, and permit drawings.
• Understanding of how to integrate GIS data in CAD drawings to ensure all drawings are created using the latest approved project data from GIS.
• Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD Plant 3D and Cadworx in the context of supporting overall facility deliverables in conjunction with piping designers.
• Desired proficiency in building terrain models and generating profiles from civil survey and public data sources, preferably in both AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Self-motivation to research and recommend new and innovative technologies.
• Ability to perform assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and work in a team environment.
• Proficient knowledge of office productivity software including Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook
• Bonus - Basic ability in using ESRI ArcGIS Pro to review, compile, query, and export data for use in CAD drawings.
