Job summary

EXP is seeking a Senior Pipeline Engineer to join its Energy Services team in the Houston Office. The role focuses on engineering design, project management, and coordination with multi-disciplinary staff for oil and gas pipeline projects.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of experience, a PE license, and strong CAD/GIS skills, with a preference for the Model Law Engineer designation. Travel for field activities may be required.

Qualifications

• PE credential is required; reciprocity may be used to gain licenses in additional states.
• 10+ years of experience in pipeline projects, including oil and gas facilities.
• Experience with pipelines and pipeline facilities (valves, traps, meters, etc.).
• Experience coordinating with clients or project management to meet scope, schedule, and budget.
• Understanding of CFR Parts 192 and 195.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be a part of thePipeline Engineeringteam, of theEnergy Services, based inHouston Officeand have the opportunity to work on the broad range ofrenewable,natural gas or oil projects.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

• A role performing engineering design, providing direction and coordinating with others to complete project tasks.
• Project Management for oil and gas projects.
• Scheduling, cost estimating, reporting for pipeline and pipeline facility projects.
• Oil and gas project experience, understanding of CFR Parts 192 and 195.
• Problem solving skills and ability to find resolutions with no oversight.
• Pipeline Engineers can perform with no oversight - hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, pipe spec, HDD calculations, workspace layout, prepare alignment sheets, site specific drawings, feasibility studies, routing, construction planning, IFB and IFC design packages, cost estimates, material take-offs, etc.
• Understanding of CAD and GIS applications and how they can be used to assist in completing work deliverables.
• Coordination with project staff such as right-of-way, environmental, survey to complete tasks and finalize deliverables.
• Will provide direction to junior/intermediate engineers and designers to complete plot plans, plan and profile drawings, site specifics, alignment sheets, HDDs, material take-off, etc.
• Will provide direction to junior/intermediate engineers to complete data analysis, drawing and mapping assignments.
• Interacts with various personnel, clients andstakeholders duringassigned projects.
• Organized and has an understanding of ISO 9001:2015 quality requirements. Can implement procedures in regard to reviewing, documenting, validating, monitoring and improvement.
• Can provide proposal writing, scope development and the preparation of execution plans.
• Ability to travel for field exercises, reconnaissance, field truthing, verification, surveys, etc. as projects dictate.
• Understanding of safe work practices, support project specific safety plans and willingness to participate in the workplace safety initiatives and culture.

What your experience looks like

• Previous experience working for natural gas or liquid pipeline operators or engineering consultants.
• Major project experience of pipelines and pipeline facilities (valves, traps, meters, etc.)
• Experience managing junior/intermediate engineers to complete design deliverables.
• Experience coordinating with clients or project management experience to achieve scope completion on schedule and within budget.
• Experience scheduling, cost estimating, reporting for pipeline and pipeline facility projects.
• Actual design experience, completing design calculations, reviewing and understanding specifications and code, providing oversight for the preparation of design drawings, reviewing drawings and approving them.
• A PE is mandatory with ability to gain PE license through reciprocity in additional states as projects dictate.
