Kimley Horn in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Civil Design Technician with 8+ years of experience to join our Disciplineteam. The role involves drafting, plan preparation, and managing complex drawings; supervision and training of CAD staff; and ensuring quality control and schedules.

Salary range is $90k–$110k with a robust benefits package. We value individuals who can work independently or with a team, mentor others, and contribute to design changes using Autodesk or Bentley tools.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience in civil design drafting and CAD
• Ability to set up and manage printing/plotting settings and standards
• Advanced knowledge of Autodesk or Bentley products; CAD staff supervision
• Detail oriented with strong communication and teamwork qualities

Our Baltimore City office is looking for a Civil Design Technician with 8+years of experience to join our Disciplineteam!

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage drafting and plan preparation standards
• Develop technical drawings and plans
• The person in this position will make and quality check drawings and plans of substantial complexity and may perform some multifaceted calculations
• Requires minimal supervision to perform day to day tasks
• Has knowledge of engineering principles and suggests design changes
• Maintains drawing database
• Will supervise and train CAD staff
• Coordinates work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control
• Develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience
• High school diploma or equivalent (associates degree preferred)

• Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products
• Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn
