Job summary

Olsson is seeking a Civil Design Manager to lead QA/QC, perform senior design review, and manage project staff across site development and related disciplines. You will oversee technical work, mentor staff, and coordinate with multiple disciplines to ensure quality design outcomes.

The role may require travel to job sites and working in diverse terrains and weather conditions while delivering innovative solutions for a range of projects.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Drafting.
  • 10 years of CAD software experience (AutoCAD Civil 3d).

  • Plans and oversees the quality review process of project deliverables.
  • Provides a consultative resource to clients for project resolution.
  • Strengthens and further develops subject matter expertise in certain design areas.
  • Provides senior-level design review for various projects on the team and acts as a resource for technical issues.
  • May assist in the preparation of project studies by completing drawings, sketching, or acquiring data.
  • Promotes efficiencies in producing quality work.
  • Supervises and reviews assignments of less experienced staff.

Job Description

Olsson provides multidisciplinary, preliminary, and construction design services for mixed-use, commercial, and residential land development projects, along with industrial, sports, schools, and other site development types.

As a Civil Design Manager, you will be responsible for leading quality assurance/quality control for the team, providing senior level design review for the team, and attending client meetings. You will direct and manage project staff on technical aspects of projects. You may also travel to job sites at different stages in construction and work in all types of terrain and weather conditions.

Primary Responsibilities will include:
