Job summary

Olsson is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Site Design team in Missouri. You will perform basic design and CAD drafting, supervise drafters, and prepare project schedules, traveling to sites as needed.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, EI/EIT, and at least two years of related design experience, with knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D. We offer flexible, hybrid work options and a supportive environment.

Job Description

Olsson provides multidisciplinary design services for mixed-use, commercial, and residential land development projects, along with industrial, sports, schools, and other site development types. As Civil Engineer on our Site Design team, you will provide basic project design through CAD drafting, instruct drafters on how to create drawings of designs, and prepare project schedules. You may also perform research, write technical reports, and travel to job sites for observation.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides small scale design elements for engineering projects using fundamental knowledge, standard techniques, and established methods for small to mid-sized projects.
• Performs basic plan production and receives instructions for necessary tasks.
• Develops and applies knowledge and experience working within design and modeling software.
• Assists with preparation of project documentation and schedules and performs designcalculations within a limited scope.
• Coordinates with experienced engineers and designers on non-routine techniques andprocedures.
• Gathers research, recommends solutions, and creates drafts of technical reports usingprescribed methods.
• Mentors student interns by providing opportunities for developing basic technical skillsand knowledge.
• Gains experience with creating and maintaining project and client information within thefirm’s project management system.

Olsson currently has growth opportunities for our Site Design group.This role offers flexible work options, including remote and hybrid opportunities, to accommodate diverse working preferences and promote work-life balance. Candidates can work hybrid schedules, work remotely, or work out of any Olsson office location in these regions/areas.

Applicants should have the ability to travel for in-office activities, client and site visits as needed.
