Job summary

Oneida ESC Group in Wisconsin is seeking a Civil Design Engineering Intern for the Summer of 2027 to gain hands-on experience in transportation and site design projects.

The internship is in-office with opportunities to rotate across Transportation, Survey Construction, Infrastructure and Utilities teams, based in Milwaukee or Madison, WI, mentored by experienced engineers. This program emphasizes hands-on training, collaboration, and professional development within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Completion of at least the sophomore year before Summer 2027.
• Basic understanding of civil engineering principles.
• Familiarity with Civil 3D software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of roadway design plans, profiles, cross sections, and details in accordance with WisDOT standards.
• Support geometric layout and alignment development using CAD software (e.g., MicroStation and/or OpenRoads Designer).
• Perform quantity calculations, cost estimates, and basic engineering analyses.
• Assist with drainage design and utility coordination tasks.
• Review and apply WisDOT design manuals, specifications, and standard details.
• Support the preparation of technical reports and documentation.
• Participate in project meetings and coordinate with internal team members and external stakeholders.
• Conduct occasional field visits to project sites (as needed).
