Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is seeking a Civil Design Engineer - Water/Wastewater to design municipal water and wastewater infrastructure, including pipelines, treatment facilities, and storage. You will prepare drawings, specs, and reports while performing hydraulic modeling and supporting permitting efforts.

The role requires a PE license, 5+ years’ experience with municipal projects, and strong communication skills for client presentations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Biosystems Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 5+ years of experience working with municipal water and wastewater clients.
• Experience in planning, design, permitting, and construction administration of infrastructure projects.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D; experience with hydraulic modeling software preferred.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic analysis and design principles.
• In-depth knowledge of utility construction methods, materials, and water/wastewater treatment technologies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to lead client presentations.
• Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and appropriately prioritize workflow.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with project financial tracking tools preferred.
• Client serviceoriented mindset with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities
