Job summary

Kiewit’s Power District is seeking a mid-level drafting/design professional to contribute to 2D/3D modeling and detailing for diverse water, power, and infrastructure projects. You will work with a multidisciplinary team across several U.S.

office locations, ensuring constructability and safety from early design through project closeout. The role requires a Diploma in drafting technology and 3–5+ years of civil design experience, with strong CAD skills (AutoCAD and Civil 3D).

Qualifications

• Diploma in drafting technology and 3-5+ years of civil design experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D; familiarity with MicroStation, GeoPak, InRoads, Navis Works, Google Earth.
• Basic knowledge of operating systems, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Ability to communicate via emails and utilize electronic meeting requests.
• Experience with solar PV layouts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with 2D and 3D modeling; ensure correct reference files are attached and model references up to date.
• Coordinate with project team using the Project Database; report progression or issues to Lead Designer.
• Review designs for consistency, safety, operability and maintenance before submitting for checking.
• Help create guidelines, checklists or knowledge-base documents as assigned.
• Collaborate with team members in design and drafting techniques to challenge abilities and provide feedback.
• Collaborate with various disciplines to provide expertise and support business needs.
• Assist in completing as-builts using RFIs, ECNs and red-marked drawings to conform to construction records.
• Participate in project and layout meetings; coordinate activities of project team members.
