Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed design calculations for roads, drainage, earthworks, and other civil infrastructure components.
• Prepare comprehensive design drawings, specifications, and tender documentation using CAD software.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant SANS standards, municipal by-laws, and client requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, senior engineers, and other disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Review designs for constructability, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to project objectives.
• Assist in the preparation of design reports and feasibility studies.
• Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) during the construction phase.
• Maintain organized and accurate project files and records.
• Stay current with industry best practices and emerging design technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) or Candidate Engineer registration with ECSA is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in civil infrastructure design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, or similar civil design software.
• Strong understanding of road design, stormwater management, and earthworks principles.
• Familiarity with South African civil engineering standards and municipal processes.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for remote collaboration.
