Job summary

Progressive Companies in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to lead site design, drainage, and utility analyses. You will develop design concepts, ensure compliance with codes, and coordinate across disciplines to deliver quality drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities include field data gathering, permitting support, and presenting to municipal agencies. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D and HEC-RAS/EPANET is required, with a 5+ year post-graduate background in civil

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent in education and experience for licensure.
• 5+ years of post-graduation Civil Engineering experience.
• Comfortable working in AutoCAD Civil3D.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Perform calculations for drainage, grading, and foundation designs.
• Develop concepts and design phase deliverables with senior oversight.
• Analyze stormwater management systems, sanitary sewer, water distribution.
• Develop CAD/BIM models for roads, utilities, and site plans with multidisciplinary coordination.
• Assist with field inspection and data gathering.
• Ensure designs meet building codes, zoning laws, and environmental regulations; assist with permitting.
• Attend municipal meetings and consult with regulatory agencies.
• Use AutoCAD Civil3D, HEC RAS, EPANET, MicroStation for presentation and production.
