Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join our southeast team in Raleigh or Charlotte, NC. The role develops civil designs, construction plans, and associated documents under supervision, with exposure to diverse projects including land development, solar, and mining.

Ideal candidates have a BS in Civil Engineering, up to 3 years of experience, and familiarity with AutoCAD; Civil 3D proficiency is preferred and EIT is a plus.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution or equivalent.
• 0–3 years of experience in civil design engineering.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate preferred.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD is required; Civil 3D proficiency is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce civil engineering designs and construction plans using Civil 3D.
• Perform site grading, drainage, and stormwater considerations.
• Prepare calculations, exhibits, and technical reports.
• Coordinate with engineers and project leaders to meet schedules and standards.
• Communicate effectively within a team and with clients.
