Renaissance Infrastructure Consulting (RIC) in Denver is seeking an Entry-Level Civil Design Engineer to gain hands-on design experience while working with experienced engineers and PMs. The role focuses on civil infrastructure design and analysis across multiple disciplines, with mentorship toward PE licensure.

You will assist with plans, drawings, calculations, and project documentation, gaining exposure to grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway design in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related civil design tools.
• Strong mathematical and analytical thinking for design calculations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for client and team interactions.

Responsibilities

• Assist project engineers with design and development of civil infrastructure projects.
• Prepare plans, drawings, and calculations for project documentation.
• Support site grading, drainage, utilities, roadways, and site infrastructure design.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software to develop project plans.
• Assist with technical reports such as stormwater reports and SWPPPs.
• Participate in internal and client meetings; coordinate with project team members.

About The Role

RIC is seeking an Entry‑Level Civil Design Engineer to join our Denver team. This position is a great opportunity for a recent Civil Engineering graduate looking to begin their career and gain hands‑on design experience while working alongside experienced engineers and project managers. The Civil Design Engineer will assist with the design and analysis of civil infrastructure projects and gain exposure to a variety of project types and technical disciplines. The position will receive mentorship and guidance from RIC’s Professional Engineers while developing the technical skills and project experience needed to grow within the profession and work toward PE licensure.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist project engineers and project managers with the design and development of civil engineering projects.


• Prepare plans, drawings, calculations, and other project documentation.


• Assist with site grading, drainage, utility, roadway, and infrastructure design.


• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to develop project plans and designs.


• Assist with preparation of technical reports, including stormwater reports and SWPPPs.


• Assist with shop drawing reviews and permit applications.


• Participate in internal project meetings and client meetings as appropriate.


• Coordinate with other engineers, designers, surveyors, and project team members.


• Manage assigned tasks and deadlines across multiple projects.


• Incorporate review comments and feedback into designs and work products.


• Develop an understanding of applicable design standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• 1 year of AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred.


• Recent graduate or up to 2 years of related civil engineering experience.


• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software


• Ability to develop GIS, CAD, and data management skills.


• Basic knowledge of civil engineering concepts


• Strong problem-solving and math skills


• Ability to perform under pressure and in a fast‑paced environment.


• Effective oral and written communication skills


• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

Education Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil engineering from an ABET accredited university.


• EI certification preferred but not required.
