SUMMARY

Ardmore Roderick is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will design utility and highway infrastructure projects. This position offers the opportunity to work on large-scale energy, transportation, municipal, and private development projects, including the relocation of overhead and underground utilities to accommodate new construction. It provides a chance to work on critical energy infrastructure while growing within a dynamic and expanding firm.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in designing overhead and underground gas/electric distribution systems.
• Perform engineering calculations, create technical drawings, and develop design documentation under senior guidance.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, and MicroStation for mapping, design, and drafting.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including structural, electrical, and environmental engineers.
• Support project planning by reviewing permits, design standards, and utility regulations.
• Participate in field assessments to gather data and develop engineering solutions.
• Ensure designs comply with industry codes, safety regulations, and client specifications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The minimum requirements include:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in civil design, energy, or utility engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, GIS, and PLS-CADD.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• EIT certification; PE track is encouraged.
