Job summary

Spectra Tech, Inc. in Oak Ridge, TN is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to develop detailed design packages and provide field support for plant facilities.

You will lead or participate in multi-discipline teams, perform walk downs, ensure conformance to design codes, and coordinate with clients and project teams. A Bachelor’s in engineering (ABET) with 5+ years experience is required; CAD is a plus in a production environment.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's Degree in engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Ability to interface with clients, production and support teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide self-performed technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems through the application of established engineering practices, codes and standards.
• Storm and storm drain designs and modifications.
• Road design.
• Soil evaluation.
• Oversight of outside engineering firms.
• Must be familiar with consensus design codes.
• CAD drafting experience not required but preferred.
• Must be willing to work in a production environment.
