Job summary

Murphy Tower Service LLC is seeking a construction crew laborer to join our team in Iowa. The ideal candidate has construction experience and a CDL is preferred. The role is outdoors, with on-the-job training and opportunities to grow with a family-owned business.

You will assist in building projects per client scope and drawings, load tools, follow safety guidelines, and help maintain a clean worksite. CDL preferred but not required to start.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CDL preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in construction trades.

Responsibilities

• Excavate, form, and pour tower foundation footings.
• Load and unload tools and equipment.
• Follow scope of work and construction drawings to complete projects.
• Verify that tools, equipment and stocked supplies on your trailer are available and in working order.
• Attend daily tailgate meetings to address daily tasks and safety issues; report safety concerns.
• Take pictures of final work and provide documentation to Project Manager as needed.
• Keep work site clean, organized, and free of trash.
• Read laser level and grade sticks.
• Trenching and installing PVC conduit and ground rings.
• Hand digging around utilities and shoveling/raking dirt and gravel.

Job Summary:

A Civil Crew Laborer assists in building each job as defined by the client's scope of work and construction drawings under the direction of the Civil Crew Leader.

Responsibilities:

• Excavating, forming, and pouring tower foundation spread footings.
• Loading and unloading all tools and equipment.
• Follow scope of work and construction drawings to completed projects.
• Verify that all tools, equipment and stocked supplies on your trailer are available and in working order.
• Attend daily tailgate meetings to address daily tasks and safety issues. Report any safety concerns to Civil Crew Leader.
• Take pictures of final work and provide all documentation to Project Manager as needed.
• Keep work site clean, organized, and free of trash.
• Tie rebar mats and cages
• Read laser level and grade sticks
• Trenching and installing PVC conduit and ground rings.
• Hand digging around utilities and shoveling/raking dirt and gravel.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License. CDL preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in construction traders.

Educational Development:

• Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Physical, Mental, and Visual Effort:

• Able to work in extreme weather conditions such as heat, cold and strong winds.

Working Conditions:

• Outdoors
