Civil Foreman – Tower Communications Expert, LLC

Position Summary

The Civil Foreman leads a field crew in the construction, repair, and maintenance of telecom tower sites, foundations, grounding systems, concrete pads, equipment shelters, access roads, and other civil infrastructure. This role is responsible for supervising day-to-day jobsite operations, ensuring work meets TCE quality standards, safety protocols, customer specifications, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise all daily civil construction tasks for assigned projects.
  • Lead and mentor crew members, promoting TCE’s values and high-performance culture.
  • Interpret construction drawings, specs, and scopes of work; ensure accurate execution.
  • Manage materials, equipment, tools, deliveries, and jobsite documentation.
  • Conduct daily jobsite briefings, hazard assessments, and safety audits.
Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce all OSHA, NATE, TCE, and client-specific safety policies.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE, trench safety, barricading, lockout/tagout, and rigging practices.
  • Immediately address hazards, unsafe behavior, or near-miss events.
  • Complete and submit JHAs, incident reports, and safety documentation accurately.
Technical Work
  • Tower foundation installation
  • Concrete pads and shelter foundations
  • Grounding, trenching, and conduit installation
  • Equipment platforms and fencing
  • Excavation, backfill, compaction, and grading
  • Operate heavy equipment (e.g., skid steers, mini-excavators) safely and efficiently.
Quality & Customer Experience
  • Ensure work meets engineering plans, carrier specifications, and TCE quality expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, inspectors, and client representatives.
  • Document progress through photos, reports, redlines, and daily updates.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 3–5+ years of civil construction experience; telecom civil experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience leading a crew or acting as a working foreman.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil/structural drawings and utility plans.
  • Proficient in operating excavators, skid steers, compaction equipment, and hand tools.
  • Strong understanding of grounding, trenching, concrete forming, and rebar installation.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel and work in outdoor environments for extended periods.
  • High proficiency in laser transit.
