Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Laborer to assist skilled trades with material handling, equipment assembly, and site prep. You will help prepare work areas, clean machinery, and support various crafts on site.

Responsibilities include loading gear, supplying materials, erecting scaffolding, and safely moving concrete components. A strong teamwork mindset and reliability are essential for success in a fast-paced construction environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs (with assistance as needed).
• Ability to work with various tools and equipment.

Laborer

SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking a Laborer that will be responsible for assisting Laborers and Laborer Journeyman with material handling, assembling and dismantling of equipment, preparing work areas, and cleaning of machines and workspaces.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Load and unload equipment
• Prepare, handle, and supply materials and tools to be used by other crafts
• Clean work area, machines, and equipment
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding (5X7X16) and staging
• Level ground for scaffolding
• Tend motor and grout: lift, unload, move, set, and shovel between wheelbarrows and buckets
• General cleanup and clearing of debris, including sweeping, cleaning, washing, and loading or burning of debris
• Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete
• Vibrate concrete
• Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in construction preferred
• Ability to work with tools and equipment such as power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, and jackhammers; forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies
• Strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills; detail orientation; active listening skills and effective communication, including an openness to diverse input and feedback
• Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
• *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
