Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Laborer to assist Laborers and Journeyman with material handling, assembling and dismantling equipment, preparing work areas, and cleaning machines and workspaces.

You will load and unload equipment, supply materials, clean areas, erect scaffolding, level ground, move concrete, and support diverse teams on site. A strong work ethic, teamwork, and safety awareness are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction preferred.
• Ability to use power and non-powered hand tools and equipment listed.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Laborer

SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking a Laborer that will be responsible for assisting Laborers and Laborer Journeyman with material handling, assembling and dismantling of equipment, preparing work areas, and cleaning of machines and workspaces.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Load and unload equipment
• Prepare, handle, and supply materials and tools to be used by other crafts
• Clean work area, machines, and equipment
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding (5X7X16) and staging
• Level ground for scaffolding
• Tend motor and grout: lift, unload, move, set, and shovel between wheelbarrows and buckets
• General cleanup and clearing of debris, including sweeping, cleaning, washing, and loading or burning of debris
• Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete
• Vibrate concrete
• Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in construction preferred
• Ability to work with tools and equipment such as power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, and jackhammers; forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies
• Strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills; detail orientation; active listening skills and effective communication, including an openness to diverse input and feedback
• Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
• *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
