Job summary

Currie & Brown is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Construction Manager to support a major data center program in Columbus, Ohio. You will act as an extension of the client's construction leadership, driving execution, field coordination, risk identification, and stakeholder alignment across a campus.

The ideal candidate brings 12+ years of construction management on data center or mission-critical projects, with strong knowledge of site development, utilities, and heavy civil

Qualifications

• 12+ years of construction management experience on large-scale capital projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related.
• Experience leading field execution for data center, mission-critical, industrial, or large commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of site development, earthwork, underground utilities, drainage, and civil infrastructure.
• Knowledge of SWPPP, environmental compliance, and environmental regulations.
• Proficiency with construction means and methods, project controls, risk management, scheduling, quality assurance, and safety compliance.
• Experience coordinating with owners, general contractors, and subs contractors.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
• Understanding commissioning readiness, turnover, and closeout processes.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Support client construction leadership in planning, coordination, and execution of campus-wide construction activities.
• Serve as an extension of the client's team, aligning project stakeholders, contractors, and field teams.
• Drive project execution by monitoring progress, identifying risks, and resolving issues.
• Lead field coordination and facilitate communication among contractors, consultants, and client representatives.
• Monitor schedule, quality, safety compliance, and overall project delivery.
• Conduct site walks, progress meetings, and construction reviews to ensure objectives are met.
• Oversee heavy civil construction activities including site development, grading, excavation, utilities, drainage, paving, and underground infrastructure.
• Coordinate underground utilities installation and other civil infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with SWPPP and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with environmental consultants and regulators to resolve compliance issues.
• Review contractor work plans, sequencing, and means/methods for heavy civil works.
• Identify, communicate, and mitigate project risks and constraints.
• Support commissioning readiness, turnover planning, and project closeout.
• Maintain accurate project reporting and provide updates to leadership.
• Promote best practices and continuous improvement across the program.

About the Role

Currie & Brown is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Construction Manager with 12+ years of construction management experience to support a major data center program in Columbus, Ohio. This individual will serve as an extension of the client's construction leadership team, driving execution, field coordination, risk identification, stakeholder alignment, and overall project delivery across an assigned campus.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise managing large-scale mission-critical, data center, industrial, semiconductor, or advanced manufacturing projects and possess the leadership skills necessary to oversee complex construction activities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities will Include:

• Support client construction leadership in the planning, coordination, and execution of campus-wide construction activities.
• Serve as an extension of the client's team, ensuring alignment between project stakeholders, contractors, and field teams.
• Drive project execution by monitoring progress, identifying risks, resolving issues, and maintaining accountability across all parties.
• Lead field coordination efforts and facilitate communication between contractors, consultants, and client representatives.
• Monitor schedule performance, construction quality, safety compliance, and overall project delivery.
• Conduct site walks, progress meetings, and construction reviews to ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Oversee heavy civil construction activities including site development, grading, excavation, utilities, drainage, paving, and underground infrastructure installation.
• Coordinate and monitor installation of underground utilities including storm, sanitary, water, fire protection, electrical duct banks, telecommunications, and other civil infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with SWPPP (Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan), environmental permits, erosion and sediment control requirements, and applicable environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with environmental consultants, inspectors, and regulatory agencies to resolve compliance issues and maintain project permitting requirements.
• Review contractor work plans, sequencing, and means and methods for heavy civil and underground construction activities.
• Identify, communicate, and mitigate project risks and constraints.
• Support commissioning readiness, turnover planning, and project closeout activities.
• Maintain accurate project reporting and provide regular updates to leadership teams.
• Promote best practices and continuous improvement across the construction program.

Qualifications & Education

• 12+ years of construction management experience supporting large-scale capital construction projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline preferred.
• Proven experience leading field execution for data center, mission-critical, semiconductor, industrial, advanced manufacturing, heavy civil, infrastructure, or large commercial projects.
• Strong understanding of site development, earthwork, grading, excavation, underground utilities, drainage systems, and civil infrastructure construction.
• Working knowledge of SWPPP requirements, environmental compliance, erosion and sediment control, and applicable local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, project controls, risk management, scheduling, quality assurance, and safety compliance.
• Experience working directly with owners, general contractors, specialty contractors, and trade partners.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
• Strong understanding of commissioning readiness, turnover, and project closeout processes.
• Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Procore, Primavera P6, BIM 360, Microsoft Project, or similar construction management tools.
• Data center or hyperscale construction experience preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
