Job summary

Stantec is offering Summer 2027 Civil Engineering internships in Minnesota (Twin Cities, St. Cloud, Rochester). You will join the Community Development Group and work on real projects, often outdoors, gaining hands-on experience in urban design, roadways, trails, traffic, and infrastructure design.

Expect CAD drafting, surveying, and collaboration with clients and teams. Applicants should be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil/ construction engineering or related field, with basic knowledge of

Qualifications

• In progress toward earning a bachelor’s degree (minimum) in civil engineering, structural engineering, construction engineering, construction management GIS/Survey, or related field.
• Exposure to civil engineering planning, design, construction, infrastructure, hydrology, environmental science, surveying and construction management is desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist with completing the civil component of projects in a dynamic design team environment.
• Perform construction observation for project compliance with documents and engineering principles.
• Perform construction administration duties including documenting activities, measuring materials, coordinating materials testing, reviewing shop drawings, and providing project oversight.
• Complete detailed reports as required.
• Assist with construction surveying/staking as needed.
• Communicate effectively with staff, clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
