Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with field experience.
• Strong working knowledge of position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Proficient with electrical, hand tools, power tools and measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles and heavy equipment on roads and rights-of-way, including maintenance.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; grade roads and spread rock and gravel.
• Trench and construct ditches for culverts, water pipes and sewer pipes; remove silt and debris.
• Check and maintain all fluid levels and lubrication on equipment.
• May instruct and train employees in safe operation of construction equipment and skills
• Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify defects and errors.
• Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities for work activities.
• Ensure work complies with contract plans and specifications and address deficiencies.
