Turner Industries is seeking a Dirt Equipment Operator for a position in the Lake Charles, LA area. The Heavy Equipment Operator operates power-driven machinery to move dirt or materials; non-exempt and reports to the Foreman or Site Manager.

Duties follow site procedures with safety standards and frequent quality checks. ESAs include a comprehensive benefits package with health, dental, vision, life, ADD, disability, 401k, PTO, holidays, telehealth, and EAP.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent.
• Must have a valid TWIC card in hand.
• NCCER is preferable but not necessary.
• Requires DISA background check and DISA drug test.
• General knowledge of civil construction and excavation.
• General knowledge of maintaining level grade at defined elevations.
• Post offer drug/alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the company Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy.
• Comply with company and client job site safety requirements.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.

Responsabilités

• Moves hand and foot levers to control diesel, electric, gasoline or steam-powered operating equipment; interprets hand signals to determine where materials are to be placed; reads and interprets load charts; may assemble or disassemble equipment or material on construction projects; may be required to manipulate equipment on un-level working surfaces; may perform maintenance duties such as cleaning, greasing and oiling machines/equipment.
• Reports to Foreman or Site Manager; non-exempt role; duties assigned per procedures; safety checks and compliance performed.
