Southern Contracting, LLC seeks a Civil Construction Assistant Project Manager to support heavy civil project delivery. You will collaborate with Project Managers and Superintendents to review plans, submittals, schedules, and vendor coordination.

This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals with Civil Engineering or Construction Management degrees, offering growth toward leadership on federal and commercial projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required) or Construction Management (preferred).
• 1 year of experience in heavy civil construction preferred; entry-level candidates encouraged.
• U.S. Citizenship required to work on federal projects.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Interpret project plans and specifications to ensure accuracy in construction.
• Review and manage project submittals.
• Generate purchase orders and track material deliveries.
• Support project scheduling and subcontractor coordination.
• Prepare daily field reports for leadership review.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and client requirements.
• Provide general support to Project Managers and Superintendents.
