Job summary

Norrell Construction, Inc. in Clute, TX is seeking a General Civil Craftsman/Worker to build, repair and maintain civil structures. You will work with concrete, steel and wood, read blueprints, follow safety regs and support other crafts. Requires 2+ years carpentry on industrial projects, knowledge of forms, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

This is a full-time, on-site role with occasional overtime; a drug test and background check are required.

Qualifications

• Must have 2+ years working as a carpenter on an industrial construction project.
• Must be able to read blueprints, plans, and drawings proficiently to perform duties.
• Must have knowledge of materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form construction.
• Must be able to compute basic arithmetic functions, measure, mark, and cut equipment and materials to specification.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to work a full work schedule and any additional overtime with little to no notification.
• Must be willing to assist other crafts and perform additional job duties while not performing primary craft duties.
• Must pass drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Construct, repair and maintain civil structures.
• Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
• Identify all tools required for tasks.
• Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
• Measure, mark, and cut required wooden/metallic materials to required specifications.
