Job summary

Parametrix seeks a CAD Technician to join the Greater Washington Community Building team. You will develop engineering plans, drawings, and construction documents for site development projects that shape vibrant communities.

Hybrid work flexibility is available across the Greater Washington region. The role requires an associate degree and 5+ years of CAD drafting experience, with proficiency in Civil 3D or MicroStation and strong attention to detail to coordinate with engineers and project

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in engineering technology, civil engineering, drafting, or related field.
• 5+ years CAD design or drafting experience, preferably on civil site development projects.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, or InRoads; versatility across platforms valued.
• Experience with Autodesk Revit is preferred but not required.
• Ability to interpret engineering markups and translate into accurate drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop CAD plans, details, and layouts for civil site development projects.
• Prepare and revise plan sheets for grading, drainage, utilities, roadways, and other site improvements.
• Translate engineering direction, design information, calculations, sketches, and redlines into drawings.
• Use Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and InRoads to create and maintain project drawings.
• Coordinate with engineers, designers, project managers, and other disciplines to review drawings and maintain quality.
• Assist with organizing drawing sets and maintaining drafting standards.
