Job summary

The Civil CAD Technician at Core States Group supports land development and civil engineering projects by preparing drawings in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, under the guidance of civil engineers and project managers. This role emphasizes producing accurate construction documents and coordinating with engineers for quality control.

Based in Kent, WA, the on-site position requires collaboration, attention to detail, and timely plan production to support multiple projects across North America.

Qualifications

• Technical schooling or degree in Civil Drafting or related field.
• Autodesk Revit certification is a plus.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D for site development.
• Bluebeam for PDF markup and review.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to use AI tools to improve processes and review AI content.

Responsibilities

• Set up drawings per company standards for title blocks, layers, and line weights.
• Prepare site plans, maps, exhibits, and aerial overlays.
• Assist with research on civil design standards and agency requirements.
• Prepare preliminary and final construction documents.
• Update drawings with design changes and redlines.
• Assemble plan sets for submission to agencies (PDF/Hard Copy).
• Perform spell check, cross-referencing, and revision tracking.
• Other duties as required.

Education

Technical School, Associate degree or certificate in Civil Drafting, CAD Technology, Drafting Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field

Autodesk Revit certification

Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D

Bluebeam experience (PDF markups, review)

Microsoft Office Suite

AI tools usage to improve team processes

Review AI-generated content for accuracy
