Atlas Connections is hiring an experienced CAD Designer for water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Texas. This is an opportunity to join a smaller, collaborative team where you can work directly with experienced engineers, broaden your technical skills, and contribute across varied projects.

You’ll use Civil 3D and your understanding of engineering systems to develop coordinated drawing packages, identify design questions, and advance deliverables with guidance from project managers

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CAD/design experience in water/wastewater infrastructure or related fields.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and ability to develop coordinated drawings with engineering guidance.
• Experience with pipelines, lift stations, pump stations, treatment facilities, or related systems.
• Strong organizational, communication, and attention to detail, with ability to manage multiple drawings and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain water and wastewater design drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Prepare layouts, plans, profiles, sections, and details for pipelines and related facilities.
• Contribute to plant layouts, piping drawings, and process documentation as needed.
• Translate engineering concepts, calculations, and markups into coordinated drawings.
• Coordinate with project managers, PEs, and EITs to resolve drawing coordination issues.
• Check drawings for completeness, dimensions, and conformance to standards before review.
• Manage drawing deliverables and revisions through design and construction.
• Identify missing information and improvement opportunities for review by the project engineer.

Atlas Connections is hiring an experienced CAD Designer for water and wastewater infrastructure projects serving communities across Texas. This is an opportunity to join a smaller, collaborative team where you can work directly with experienced engineers, broaden your technical skills, and contribute across varied projects.

Assignments may include pipelines, lift stations, pump stations, treatment facilities, and related infrastructure. You’ll use Civil 3D and your understanding of engineering systems to develop coordinated drawing packages, identify design questions, and advance deliverables with guidance from project managers and licensed engineers.

What you’ll do

• Develop and maintain water and wastewater design drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Prepare layouts, plans, profiles, sections, and details for pipelines and related facilities.
• Contribute to plant layouts, piping drawings, and process and instrumentation documentation as appropriate to the assignment.
• Translate engineering concepts, calculations, design criteria, and markups into clear, coordinated drawings.
• Work with project managers, PEs, and EITs to clarify requirements and resolve drawing coordination issues.
• Check drawings for completeness, consistency, dimensions, and compliance with project standards before engineering review.
• Manage assigned drawing deliverables and revisions through design and construction.
• Identify missing information, coordination concerns, and potential layout improvements for review by the project engineer.

What you’ll bring

• At least 5 years of relevant CAD/design experience in water/wastewater infrastructure or directly related process or conveyance work.
• Strong AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency and the ability to develop coordinated drawings with engineering guidance.
• Experience with pipelines, lift stations, pump stations, treatment facilities, or related systems.
• An understanding of how system components fit together and the ability to recognize coordination or constructability questions.
• Strong organization, communication, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple drawing assignments and deadlines.

A four-year degree is not required. An associate or two-year degree is welcome, and relevant experience and demonstrated technical ability are central to this role. EIT or PE credentials are not required.

Preferred experience

• Revit.
• Treatment facility or process drawings, plant drawing packages, piping layouts, or process and instrumentation drawings.
• Responsibility for developing and coordinating a drawing package alongside a project engineer.
