Job summary

City of Philadelphia seeks an Executive Producer to lead editorial and production for PHLgovTV. This hands-on leadership role launches three new series and manages live broadcasts across cable, livestream, YouTube, Roku, Apple TV, and social media.

You will write, produce, and may direct and edit, guiding a four-person production team. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of Philadelphia neighborhoods and government, a commitment to public-interest journalism, and the ability to balance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Film/Television Production, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional television, video, or broadcast production experience.
• Demonstrated experience producing original programming on a recurring schedule (episodes, documentary series, or public affairs).
• Experience managing production teams and coordinating across departments or partner organizations.

Responsibilities

• Lead editorial authority over all PHLgovTV programming and live broadcasts.
• Develop season plans, episode concepts, and rundowns for inaugural series.
• Write or oversee segment scripts, run-of-show documents, and interview questions.
• Direct and supervise production staff; coordinate schedules and post-production workflows.
• Coordinate live broadcasts with City Council sessions, hearings, and government events.
• Ensure programming meets accessibility standards, editorial policies, and city priorities.
