Job summary

The City of Baltimore is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to design, build, test, deploy, and maintain modern web applications and digital products for Baltimore City. The role develops accessible front-end experiences, secure back-end services, APIs, integrations, and reusable components that support internal operations, resident services, and public transparency.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Five or more years of progressively responsible experience developing and maintaining full stack web applications, or an equivalent combination of professional, academic, and portfolio experience.
• Equivalency notes: Have an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and build accessible, responsive web applications using React and Python frameworks such as Django or Flask.
• Develop secure APIs, integrations, database-backed services, and reusable front-end and back-end components.
• Translate data and analytical outputs into reliable interactive products for residents, staff, and City leaders.
• Make sound technical choices about architecture, performance, maintainability, and reuse within City standards.
