Job summary

City of Cleveland is seeking a Senior Advisor to the Mayor to advance strategic priorities and strengthen city government. You will lead high-priority initiatives that require enterprise-wide coordination and translate executive priorities into actionable plans and measurable results.

The role reports to the Chief of Staff in the Office of the Mayor and works across departments to foster cross-functional collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in government or large, complex organizations.
• Track record leading cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience working with executive leadership.
• Ability to translate executive priorities into actionable implementation plans.

Responsibilities

• Manage implementation of high-priority strategic operational initiatives identified by the Mayor and executive leadership to improve operational effectiveness across City departments.
• Develop standardized operating procedures, business process documentation, and governance frameworks.
• Promote adoption of operational excellence tools and methodologies across City government.
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Facilitate executive working groups and cross-functional teams.
• Build collaborative relationships across departments to achieve shared organizational goals.
• Represent the Mayor and the City at external meetings, events, and other engagements as appropriate.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to support the Mayor’s priorities and advance strategic initiatives.
