Job summary

The City of Hialeah is hiring for a Facilities and Grounds Worker to perform routine repairs and maintenance across irrigation systems, sidewalks, and city facilities. Responsibilities include operating light equipment, restoring fields, and assisting with event setup and inventory management.

Minimum education is a high school diploma or GED. A Florida driver’s license is required with six months to obtain a Class B CDL with air brakes and an N endorsement.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or GED.
• Ability to perform light to heavy manual labor for extended periods, under varying conditions.
• Ability to read and follow instructions.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
• Within six months, obtain a Class B CDL with air brakes and an N endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine repairs and maintenance on irrigation systems and sidewalks.
• Carry out city facility maintenance at Parks and Recreation locations.
• Maintain and repair city facilities, grounds, and equipment.
• Operate light equipment such as mowers, mini excavators, and backhoes.
• Assist with event setup, delivery, and breakdown city-wide events.
• Maintain inventory for Parks and Recreation warehouse bays.
• Perform related work as required.
