Job summary

City of Calabasas is seeking a dynamic Emergency Management Program Manager to lead citywide readiness, response, and recovery efforts. You will guide disaster planning, EOC activation, and regulatory compliance while coordinating with multiple departments and external partners.

The role requires advanced knowledge of SEMS/NIMS, substantial leadership experience, and the ability to manage budgets and contracts effectively. Extensive hours may be required during emergencies.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable.
• Strong knowledge of SEMS/NIMS frameworks and emergency management principles.
• Proven ability to supervise staff and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and manage emergency preparedness, response, and recovery programs.
• Develop and oversee program budgets, contracts, and staffing to support readiness.
• Coordinate training and exercises for staff and external partners.
• Liaise with City Manager, City Council, and outside agencies on emergency management matters.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in public administration, emergency management, criminal justice, public safety, or related field
