Job summary

The City of Denton seeks an experienced finance professional to supervise daily budget operations and provide analytical direction to assigned staff. You will lead the compilation and monitoring of operating and capital budgets across departments, develop proformas, and research rates and impacts to inform decisions.

You will also train staff citywide, forecast long-term financial needs, and serve as a liaison to departments while presenting findings to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
• Six years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, rate, costs, revenue analyses, or related field.
• Two years of experience in a management or supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the compilation and monitoring of the operating and capital budgets for assigned departments, including development of financial proformas and rate/impact fee research.
• Develop and implement training for staff citywide to ensure processes and procedures are followed.
• Serve as financial liaison to operating departments citywide and provide information presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
• Build rate revenue and fee forecasts; update cost-of-service analyses for utility rates and recommend changes.
